NEWS ABOUT CAVERSHAM COURT

  • The gardens re-opened in August 2009.
  • One of the most interesting discoveries made during the clearance works has been the remains of the old Fernery walls.  Pieces of Pulamite and crystal have been salvaged and it is hoped to include these in some way in the new house footprint.  Pulamite, is a type of cement (the exact recipe is secret) that could be moulded to replicate stonework and it was much used in Victorian times.
  • Three new memorial trees have now been planted in the gardens.  Further tree planting (oaks and cherries) will take place once the construction work has been completed, hopefully towards the end of the next planting season.
