New Police Inspector for the Caversham Neighbourhoods
A new Inspector has started work in the Caversham neighbourhoods. Inspector Penny Mackenzie has taken over from Inspector Graham Dix who has moved to a new role at Headquarters.
Inspector Mackenzie has been with Thames Valley Police for 15 years and most recently worked in the Public Protection Unit at Reading police station.
She said: “Initially I shall be spending time getting to know my neighbourhood teams and the various communities they cover. Then I will look at tackling some of the local issues. A lot of good work has been carried out by the neighbourhood teams in Caversham and I am looking forward to building on those successes with the support of our partners and the local community.”
Inspector Mackenzie is not the only new face on the Caversham teams. PC Debbie Smith has moved over from Tilehurst as a neighbourhood officer and Sergeant Rob Pitman will join the team on 1 August, replacing Sergeant Nigel Scarratt who has moved to Wokingham.
Sergeant Pitman who currently works in the Community Safety Team at Reading police station said “I am really excited to be taking up this new role and can’t wait to get started. Having previously worked as a beat officer in Caversham early in my career I am thrilled to join the neighbourhood team and I am looking forward to making a difference to the community we serve.”
