Consultation on Site Allocations: New Sites and Progress Update

The consultation closed on  Friday 13 November 2009.

Reading Borough Council has produced a document that identifies sites for development, for protection and for other designations, the Site Allocations Document.

As a result of the 2008 consultation, a number of additional sites have now been suggested for development or protection.

This document is available to view in Reading Borough libraries (during opening hours), in the reception of the Civic Offices (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) and on the web site.

The new sites which have been suggested are set out below.

“D” means that the site is suggested for development, and “P” for protection.

Please note that the Council does not necessarily endorse these suggestions

at this stage.

Beacontree Plaza, Manor Farm Road (D)

Social Club, Gas Works Road (D)

Elvian School, Bath Road (D)

Napier Court, Napier Road (D)

Happy Prospect, Coronation Square (D)

Part of Tesco site, Napier Road (D)

The Council has also prepared a full Sustainability Appraisal, testing a range of

options for each site for environmental, social and economic effects, for all candidate sites for allocation, including the new sites as well as most of the sites consulted upon in 2008. This is also available for comment, and can be viewed on the website.
