South Oxfordshire Planning Consultation

South Oxfordshire is preparing a Core Strategy to form part of the Local Development Framework to 2026. The document suggests options for the location of future development within South Oxfordshire and discusses the issues and problems which need to be addressed. They are seeking comments with a consultation period from November 2007 to 1 February 2008.

The document sets out a requirement, taking into account local needs and the requirements of the South East Plan, for 1600 houses in Central Oxfordshire (mainly in Wallingford) and 1400 houses in the rest of the District. Options for locating the 1400 all include a major proportion at Thame and Henley but there are options including land adjacent to Reading and also in the larger villages including Goring, Sonning Common and Woodcote. These options clearly have implications for Reading.
