What do we do?
Planning takes up a large proportion of our time, tracking local applications and the development of strategic plans and policies.
With the advent of the new licensing laws, we became involved in reviewing licensing applications including those for large events such as Reading Festival.
We are represented on the Neighbourhood Action Groups and work closely with the police and other agencies to reduce crime, vandalism and graffiti.
We review traffic and transport changes and attend the Transport Users Forum.
We seek to build a strong local network with other local residents’ associations and groups such as Caversham GLOBE, Friends of Caversham Court Gardens and Reading Civic Society. In 2012 CADRA joined the newly-formed Reading Neighbourhood Network (RNN), which is an umbrella organisation of residents and neighbourhood groups active across Reading.
We help to keep local people informed, particularly where they can influence local decisions.
We lead or share in special projects for Caversham.
How do we work?
We resolutely avoid party political bias and work closely with Reading Councillors and Officers, other local groups, the Police, companies and individuals.
