Please feel free to drop in during these times.

Enviromental Visual Audit (EVA)

The Enviromental Visual Audit is a tool that is used to try to improve the appearance of the area for eyesores like graffiti and fly tipping.  Members of the public are invited to join these inspections.  Please click here to see when an inspection is due in your area.

Traffic Issues

Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) is a policing tool which reads vehicle number plates and checks them against various computer databases, such as the Police National Computer (PNC) and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). Most criminals will use vehicles to commit crime. ANPR is designed to make it much more difficult for criminals to use vehicles without being detected. ANPR cameras are located in mobile police vans, in Roads Policing patrol cars, at dedicated fixed sites and via closed-circuit television (CCTV) schemes in urban areas.

In Caversham, ANPR was used to great effect on 14 November in Henley Road and Amersham Road. Tickets were issued for speeding and police officers dealt with tax and insurance irregularities and warnings for missing or defective lights. One motorist was charged with drink driving and two people were arrested late in the evening on suspicion of going equipped to steal. On 27 November ANPR Operation Egypt was carried out in George Street, Caversham with similar offences tackled.
